Galax by Lee Meredith
a long, lacy, scarf/shawl mashup in squishy worsted weight
- narrow wrap, somewhere between a shawl and a scarf
- pattern is charted and written
- can be made in any length
- modification notes are included for using a different yardage, working at a different gauge, using more than one color
- modular construction starting with the sideways edging
- connected entirely with short rows, no picked up stitches or seaming
- shape is gently curved
- works nicely wrapped tightly around the neck, or draped loosely
- chunky and warm in worsted weight yarn
-
you'll need:
- approx 660 yards / 600 meters of worsted weight yarn, sample is in HiKoo Kenzie (5 balls); or use modification notes to size yours based on the yardage you have (at least 410 yards / 375 meters worsted weight, for a shorter length); or a different weight to make a different width
- size US 8 (5mm) 32" (or longer) circular needle (or size to get gauge of 17 stitches and 21 rows per 4 inches); or use notes to work at a different gauge
