layers of fat cables twist up this winter hat
- use bulky or aran weight yarn
- stranded colorwork variation for aran weight
- basic bottom up hat construction
- super chunky cables make for a squishy, cozy hat
- cable without a cable needle if you like
- entire pattern is written and charted

you'll need:
- approx 160 yards / 145 meters bulky weight yarn, or approx 150{175} yards / 140{160} meters aran weight yarn for smaller{larger} sizes, or, for stranded colorwork variation, approx 100{115} yards / 90{105} meters aran weight yarn in each of two contrasting colors
- size US 10.5 (6.5mm) needles for bulky weight, size US 9 (5.5mm) for aran weight, or size to get desired gauge, in your choice of needle type(s) to work in the round around a hat circumference and around a smaller circumference (gauge details in pattern, you can adjust gauge to adjust size beyond the given sizes)
- a cable needle
