you'll need:
- {115-175, 130-190} yards / {105-160, 120-175) meters worsted weight yarn for {smaller, larger} sizes in varying heights, or {130-190, 150-210, 170-230} yards / {120-175, 140-190, 155-210} meters sport weight yarn for {small, medium, large} sizes in varying heights, total, in multiple colors for striping or a self-striping colorway
- size US 7 (4.5mm) needles for worsted / size US 3 (3.25mm) for sport, or size to get gauge, for working in the round, around a small circumference and a hat-sized circumference
