- modular sideways brim with no seaming or picked up stitches, closed with 3-needle bind-off

you'll need:
- approx 130 [150, 170] yards sport-DK weight yarn - I used Blue Moon Fiber Arts Gaea Sport, colorway Lover's Leap
- US 7 (4.5mm) circular needle, or size needed to get gauge of 19 sts = 4"/10 cm in garter stitch, 32" or longer for the brim, and either use this for small-circumference knitting as well or other needle type(s) in the same size for around the head and the crown; an extra double pointed needle for the 3-needle bind-off
- a crochet hook for provisional cast-on
