you'll need:
- 130-160 yards / 120-145 meters bulky yarn
- size US 13 needles, or size to get gauge of about 5.5 stitches per 2 inches / 5.5 stitches per 5 cm, in stockinette stitch
- a cable needle (or a double pointed needle will work)
- 8 buttons, 1-1.25 inches / 2.5-3 cm across
