What a Twist by Lee Meredith
a bulky, modular, cabled hat with button embellishments
- worked sideways, then in the round, then sideways again, then in the round again
- connected entirely with short rows, no picked up stitches or seaming
- button closures make for almost no finishing steps
- quick and warm knit in bulky yarn
- garter stitch with cables make for extra squishy texture
- was originally published in Knitscene magazine as Pink Squish Hat
- Twist on a Classic fingerless mitts were designed to match - they are also in bulky yarn with matching squishy cables, and can use up yarn left over after making the hat
-
you'll need:
- approx 120 yards / 110 meters of bulky weight yarn, sample is in Quince & co Puffin
- size US 10 1/2 16" circular needle and a set of double points (or size to get gauge of 13 stitches per 4 inches)
- cable needle
- two 1 inch wide buttons
